The Decameron Project: Hope even in the difficult situation.
The Decameron is a collection of novellas by the 14th-century Italian author Giovanni Boccaccio (1313~1375).The book is containing 100 tales told by a group of people; they shelter in a secluded villa just outside Florence in order to escape the Black Death, which was afflicting the city.
Classical performances after Corona
Although art can not take over the function of food, clothing, and shelter, For some, art has never moved away from life for a moment even after the coronavirus. If it is a new entry into the post-corona era, we will do it according to that era. We have to find a way of art that can be done as like Decameron’s people gathered to escape the Black Death and find way of story.
The word “essential”
Classical music is not an essential during this corona pandemic.The word “essential” is actually a very relative word. Even if I don’t need it all It can be the center of livelihood for others, and even if it is not needed now, someday It can be the center of my life. So I would like to say “change” rather than “essential”.
